This mechanical chilling package is a small –footprint, skid-mounted unit that can be integrated with an existing SPP with minimum retrofit effort to increase plant output and efficiency by using evaporative/mechanical chilling technology.

By taking advantage of higher mass flow rate the inlet temperature of the compressor is then decreased. Due to the lower intake temperature, the mechanical chilling technology can achieve a higher flow rate and pressure rating, which results in an Mw output of up to 9% above the rated generator capacity.

By using this technology for combined-cycle turbine applications, this technology can also increase thermal efficiency and reduce NOX emissions.
